The route takes us through snowy forest and up towards a fell, moving at a calm pace in the evening atmosphere. During the darker hours, we walk using headlamps, which adds a different and more focused way of experiencing the surroundings. The forest feels quieter, and the landscape changes as we make our way higher. Snowshoeing is an easy way to move in deep snow and does not require any previous experience. As we reach higher ground, the surroundings open up depending on the weather. On clear nights there is a chance to see the Northern Lights, but as this is a natural phenomenon, sightings can never be guaranteed. We always make a stop for a fire during the tour. It is a chance to warm up, enjoy a hot drink and take a break together outdoors. Small snacks are prepared by the fire, keeping the experience simple and true to local outdoor traditions. When booking, you can choose your preferred meeting area, either Pyhä, Luosto or Kemijärvi. The exact meeting point and arrival instructions will be sent to you by email closer to the tour date. Locations are always selected based on weather and snow conditions to make sure the experience is safe and enjoyable. This experience includes walking uphill towards a fell, so it is best suited for those who are comfortable walking for a few hours. It may not be suitable for very young children.
